#1 Family Background
I am a third generation hairstylist. I started as a shampoo girl for my mother in her salon and I grew up around the family's salon. My mother was the stylist and my grandmother was more into health, healthy hair, conditioner treatments, and all that good stuff.
#2 Passion for Hair
Originally, I wanted to be a fashion designer, but that changed after seeing a Bronner Brother's hair show. That was my beginning inspiration, but now one of my passions for hair is how people feel after they get their hair done. That's where my love for hair came from, by watching my clients really feel themselves. The process is so amazing and that really struck something in me, because I just love seeing happy people.
#3 Working With Celebrity Beyoncé
She is amazing! I continue to watch her success climb. To come up with her hairstyle options, it doesn't take a long time. Normally, with a client the process is that I'll collaborate with her team and the director to see what the actual look is. I'll create a storyboard and come up with ideas and they will come up with ideas. It's a big collaboration really.
With Beyoncé there is no test to pass to see if I have the job. I've been working with her so long. So, she doesn't really require me to do a test for her hair, but we definitely have to come up with ideas.
#4 Working With Shakira
Working with Shakira on the voice has been amazing. She loves effortless looks, a very rock and roll, grungy effortless look. It takes a lot of work to actually get to that point.
#5 I'll Still Like to Do These Celebrities Hair
Prince and Bruno Mars.
#6 What Hair Trends Should We Be Watching Out For This Summer?
As the summer approaches, a lot of my clients go natural or they put in curly hair extensions, because it's hot, humid, and sweaty. Sometimes, you don't want to fight that. It's also very good for your hair to wear it natural and not to put the stress on it of the iron. Read more with Kim Kimble Summer Trends at Ok Magazine.com
#7 Kim Was Asked by EONLINE Was She Ever Scared or Did She Ever Doubt That Big Things Were Going to Happen For Her Career and She Replied By Saying:
You know the phrase when preparation meets opportunity...You always have to be ready for something. When you get your mindset in preparing for something you don't have time to doubt.
I'm a born again Christian and my pastor had been preaching a lot of things about having faith and believing and asking God for what you want. So I did that, but it's not going to just happen. I put the work in. I earn it. I had to learn as much as I could learn.
I think that some people think it's easy, but it's not easy, and it didn't just happen overnight. It was years of training, classes, experimenting, and working. It took me 20 years to get to where I am now. People don't see the blood, sweat, tears, and the bags I have to schlep around, the over preparing or that I have a team helping me prepare for things on the level that I like to do, because I'm just not easy like that. I like to do things extra. For more of the EONLINE interview visit EONLINE.COM
#8 Background Education
Many of you probably want to know if I attended training and the answer is yes! I took training courses at Vidal Sassoon Academy and Dudley Cosmetology University in North Carolina.
#9 Why Do You Still Own Your Own Saloons?
I just love the salon life. It's where I started and my roots. It's a great place to learn and educate. I like to see what other people are doing. We learn and teach one another at the salon. There are classes every month and a different stylist will showcase something, which makes it a great environment to learn in.
#10 Busy Schedules and Trends
I don't get a lot of sleep. I research a lot...You have to research these things. I really try to create my own trends. That's where I thrive. It's also great to work with the youth, because they always know about the latest and the greatest.

When it comes to me I love for my hair to be flat ironed, curly, down, long, and luxurious. Short hair doesn't really work on me. I love to throw in a little color too.
#12 Future Goals
I want to really build my brand, expand, and build a strong educational platform. I want a hair empire.
